By Sarah Falson | Friday | 2007-12-14

Melbourne-based company Logic Gear, which sells in Australian Kmart outlets, will be showcasing a range of in-car GPS systems at CES 2008, in January.

The XL488 GPS will retail for $349 locally but will be on display at CES, along with the company's other GPS units, in search for a US distributor.

"It's a 4.3" screen, SIRFstar iii chipset, Samsung 400 mHz processor, software from IGO,  Sensis Deluxe maps – with AV-IN, USB charger cradle, FM transmitter, replaceable battery and a security PIN," said Logic Gear representative, Fiona Hudson.

The XL488 is manufactured at the company's China manufacturing plant, and operates on the Windows CE.Net 4.2 CORE system.

The unit also offers multimedia capabilities include music, video, photos and E-books.
