Vodafone Add Additional Software To Blackberry Bold

By Mendelson Tiu | Tuesday | 2008-08-26

Vodafone Australia has confirmed that it will launch the BlackBerry Bold with the latest software starting mid-September. This news comes a week after Telstra’s announcement that it is the first Australian telco to release the Bold to business users.

According to the press release, Vodafone's launch of the BlackBerry Bold will coincide with the release of Research In Motion's updated software, Gold Code 3.2 (GC3.2).

Vodafone Group engineers recently completed stringent testing of the BlackBerry Bold and have approved the GC3.2 software for global distribution. Vodafone Australia engineers also tested the new software to ensure synchronisation with additional local services.

Vodafone Australia's General Manager for Business Markets, Hugh Humphrey said, "Vodafone is proud of its reputation for delivering products and services that offer the best possible user experience to our customers. As such, Vodafone implements stringent testing on all new products and services to maintain its exceptionally high quality of service."

The BlackBerry Bold makes an important step forward in terms of usability and technology, and offers a more sophisticated portfolio of data-related applications that have not previously been offered by other BlackBerry smartphones. BlackBerry GC3.2 software will also support the East Asia language pack, which is a preferred option for many Australian corporate customers.
