Trouble For Telstra, CEO Could Go

By Sarah Falson | Monday | 2008-01-14

Telstra has vehemently denied a report in yesterday’s The Australian newspaper that CEO Sol Trujillo will leave the company this year.

Business heavyweight, Trujillo, is apparently planning to leave Telstra to run a large, unnamed corporation in the US.

If this is true, neither Telstra nor Trujillo are speaking, with one Melbourne spokesman – position not revealed – reportedly announcing to Bloomberg:

"This is a fairytale with no basis in fact. Sol came here to do a job and he won't leave before it's done."

Trujillo is responsible for renovating the Telstra business and developing the new Next G wireless broadband network.
