According to the report, in the first half of this year, Compal Electronics and Wistron each accounted for around 40 per cent of Acer's total notebook shipments, while another company, Quanta Computer took about 20 per cent.

In the third quarter, Acer says it expects to outsource around 2.2-2.5 million notebook orders to Wistron which should boost Wistron's total notebook shipments in the third quarter to 6.5-7 million units, a total that would help the company surpass its original forecast of 15 per cent sequential growth says digitimes.com.
