'World's Fastest': SanDisk MicroSD Is Extreme

By Oonagh Reidy | Monday | 29/07/2013

Fast as lightening: MicroSDHC/SDXC memory cards, Ultra USB 3.0 flash drive hit Oz.

SanDisk's new Extreme microSDXC card offer the fastest speed on the market, with up to 80MB/sec read and up to 50MB/secwrite speeds on data transfer, and rapid photo editing.

They come in 16GB, 32GBand 64 GB options, starting at $69 to $249 for 64GB card.

The memory card is designed for high data capacity 4G smartphones, tablets and 3D/ Full HD camcorders, delivering an instant storage boost.

SanDisk's high-capacity microSD cards allow Full HD video and imaging recording, playback - UHS Speed Class 1 and Speed Class 10 video recording ratings. They're ideal for Android devices with large 64GB capacity, say its maker.

Both SanDisk Extreme microSDHC and microSDXC UHS-I cards are tough operators, are waterproof, shockproof and resist x-rays.

They can operate in temperatures ranging from -13 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.

SanDisk's new Ultra USB 3.0 will transfer large files up to four times faster than USB 2.0 drives.

These newest additions are in celebration of SanDisk's 25th anniversary of flash technology innovation.

"The SanDisk Extreme microSDXC card allows users to do more with their devices," said George Saad, Country Manager, ANZ, SanDisk.

"Our high-performance and high-capacity microSD cards enable consumers to take advantage of the high-quality HD video and imaging capabilities in the latest 4G smartphones, tablets and action cameras."

"Most high-end smartphones are now driven by high-speed quad-core processors, which deliver Full HD content and applications to large, high-resolution external displays," said Stuart Robinson, director, handset component technologies service, Strategy Analytics.

"Such applications require high memory bandwidth which is ideal for the SanDisk Extreme microSDXC card, the world's fastest microSDXC memory solution."
